Youth/International Committee

Hastings Karamu Rotary Supports a number of youth initiatives in the Hastings District. If you have a fundraising project for either an individual or school/community-based project which is shown to positively influence youth in the Hastings District please contact us to discuss further.

Roger Hooker joined Hastings Karamu Rotary in 2015. In the twilight of his career, he was looking for the opportunity of fellowship and to “do good” in the community. He has appreciated the ease in which he has been accepted into the fold.

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Roger has been the full time Finance Director of the Tumu Group of Companies since 1999.

Roger is a life member of Run Walk Hawkes Bay and before his joints gave out has been involved in squash, distance running, triathlons and now walking. Over the years he has fulfilled a number of roles in organising both the Hastings Half Marathon and the Hawkes Bay Marathon.

Roger is married to Barbara and they have a son living in Hawkes Bay and a daughter in Whanganui.
