"The foundation upon which Rotary is built is friendship; on no less firm foundation could it have stood”
– Paul Harris, 1905
Rotary's theme for 2018-19, Be the Inspiration, asks Rotarians to inspire change in the world and in each other. “I ask all of you to Be the Inspiration to help Rotary move from reaction to action — to take a hard look at the environmental issues that affect health and welfare around the world and do what we can to help.” - Download Be The Inspiration Citation

President - Roger Mulvay
In Hastings Karamu Rotary Club the position of President enjoys enormous support from the members. I am looking forward to a great year of service to the community, contributing to Rotary International and fellowship in the club.
I am married to Linda and we are fortunate to have a blended family of five girls and one boy with eight grandchildren who are racing into the future.
The highlights in my background include a Masters Degree in Entomology, designing and making furniture, expanding exhibitions and managing The Kauri Museum, property development, investment and management as well as Aikido, fishing, orienteering and striving to maintain a balanced outlook on life.
Past President - Jeff Burson
It is my great pleasure becoming the president of such a fantastic positive club. It is my hope to carry this club to great things in this coming year. We have so many amazing things planned to ensure the remarkable name of Hastings Karamu Rotary is upheld.
The Cocktail Party was an event we held again this past year to help with the costs of an amazing service that is still free for everyone and anyone that needs it.
The Cranford Hospice Golf Day is also a great way of giving back to another exceptional local service. This fun day makes a great contribution towards the wonderful work that goes on at the Cranford hospice.
Individually we can achieve a little but the Hastings Karamu Rotary Club is a club where great individuals get together and make anything possible.
